Getting Started - WAX Blockchain & NFTs

What is WAX?

The Worldwide Asset eXchange™ is a blockchain known as the King of NFTs. The currency WAXP (often called WAX) is used to purchase NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on various marketplaces, and exchanged with other cryptocurrencies. WAX is the home of over 100 million digital collectibles including Capcom's "Street Fighter", Topps MLB, Deadmau5, and Weezer. And now our Game of Stonks as well!

The easiest way to get started is with a Wax Cloud Wallet. This is where you keep your wax tokens, as well as your collection of NFT assets.

Wax on YouTube has several helpful videos introducing the Cloud Wallet and WAX/EOS ecosystem

Alternatively, advanced users can use a desktop wallet such as Anchor wallet.

Your wallet address is your username and identity on the blockchain. You can receive NFTs and WAXP currency (as well as other EOS tokens) sent to your address, and use the wallet to log in to marketplaces such as Atomichub, and in some games and apps. Your wallet is used to 'sign' transactions when making a purchase. Never give anyone your private /owner keys, nor sign a transaction that looks strange.

Getting some WAX Currency

WAXP can be purchased through the Cloud Wallet for fiat, or on one of the linked crypto exchanges such as Bittrex, KuCoin, Upbit. , and sent to your wallet address

I earned my first few WAX by playing Alien Worlds, mining for trillium, and exchanging it on the Alcor exchange.

Once you have some WAX currency, you can start buying some NFTs on marketplaces like atomichub.
